Living as an inclusive community:
We are an inclusive, supportive community of Faith. Like the crucifix above our altar, we believe that the arms of Jesus are open to all who seek him as Savior regardless of ethnicity, language, economic situation, sexual orientation or immigration status. Our parish family includes both American and foreign born members representing ten different countries and five different languages. A diverse group of Christians - Latino, Anglo, Asian, Gay and Lesbian, young and old, male and female share our parish leadership.

About the Church: The parish was founded in 1904 as one of the first Episcopalian churches in Los Angeles. It has grown, declined and grown again as the city has aged around it. Over the last twenty or so years Highland Park has become predominately Hispanic, with a large immigrant community. Although traditionally Catholic, this community has found the Anglican tradition of toleration, reason and parochial care attractive, and in fact our congregation is now one of the largest in the Los Angeles diocese. It is divided by language into an English and a Spanish group, and while the latter is predominately Latino the former is very diverse.

A note on inclusivity. In All Saints Los Angeles the attitude to those outside the norm is merely one of "'That's nice, what have you done for the poor lately?" Jesus was personally comfortable with all sorts of people from the most disreputable parts of society - prostitutes, lepers and tax collectors, in his day. We feel that he was probably right about this issue. He preached love: we can do no less.
